There are various different ways in which SpecView can appear to misbehave, and the steps needed to isolate and fix the problem are different for each case.
Please look at these modes of failure and select the one that most closely matches what you are seeing:
1) SpecView is crashing, with messages like “Access Violation” or “SpecView has encountered a problem”. Click here for the next steps for this.
2) SpecView becomes unresponsive, you cannot change screens or click on things. In Windows 7 and above, SpecView screens are greyed and marked “Not Responding”. Click here for the next steps for this.
3) Values freeze or stop updating, lines on Trend Charts appear to ‘Flatline’ but SpecView itself still responds, you can navigate around screens etc. Click here for the next steps for this.
4) SpecView values show ‘XXX’ or ‘N/R’ all the time. Click here for the next steps for this.
