SpecView has a massive database of pre-built “Instrument Views”. In each, all the ‘tags’ have been defined so the user simply has to select those required from the variables list.
Most instruments can even be automatically identified by SpecView. See Ease Of Use for a demonstration.
See here for tips on wiring up instruments.
