If values on the SpecView screen appear to be frozen and not updating, and / or lines on thrend charts are totally flat, but SpecView itself is able to navigate around normally, swapping screens etc, then it is likely that the comms protocol driver has locked up.
In this case, please follow the instructions on this page to generate a dump file while SpecView is still running in this frozen state.
